If you have existing test suite result reports in HCL OneTest™ API that are
not yet published to the Unified Reporting dashboard, you can publish them without running the tests
again. As a user of HCL OneTest API, you can
publish the test result reports to the Unified Reporting dashboard so that others can view it from
the web browser.
Before you begin
- You must have installed HCL Quality Server server
on any machine and started it. For more information about HCL Quality Server server,
see Administering HCL Quality Server.
- If the HCL Quality Server server is
behind a firewall, you might not connect to it. You must have configured the firewall to allow
connections on ports 5443 and 7828.
About this task
You can publish a specific test suite result report or publish several test suite result reports
from HCL OneTest API. You can
change the name of the result report or add labels to the reports before publishing them. You can
also know if the reports are already published and choose to republish those reports.
Note: If you delete the HCL Quality Server local
workspace, the test reports cannot be recovered. You must republish the results from HCL OneTest API.
Procedure
Publish a specific test suite result report by completing the following
steps:
- In HCL OneTest API, open the
Results Gallery, select the test result instance from the list in the
Instance field for the selected test suite.
- Click the Unified Reporting icon (
).
- In the Unified Reporting window, perform the following steps:
- If there are projects available in the server, select a project to publish the result.
- If you want to publish the reports to a new project, click New Project.
Enter a project name, and then, click OK. When the result is published, the project is also created.
Note: If the
report instance you selected to publish already exists as a published report in the selected Unified
Reporting project, a warning icon (

) is shown against the report. Selecting this instance republishes the report.
- If you want to edit the result name or to add a label to the report, select the report row and
then edit any or all the following fields:
- In the Result Name cell, specify a name of the result that you want to
identify it with.
- In the Labels cell, specify tag names or comments to associate with the
results. You can also add a label to the selected report by using the Add
Labels icon (
).
- Click New Project.
The selected test result report is published to the Unified Reporting dashboard.
Publish several test suite result reports by completing the following steps:
- In HCL OneTest API, click .
The Select Suite Runs window is displayed.
- In the Select Suite Runs window, you must select one or more Test Suite in
the Selected Suites panel. Then you must select the test result report
instances for any the following options:
- Click OK.
The result reports available for the selected option are displayed in the Unified
Reporting window.
- In the Unified Reporting window, perform the following steps:
- If there are projects available in the server, select a project to publish the result.
- If you want to publish to a new project, click New Project. Enter a
project name, and then click OK. When the result is published, the project is
also created.
Note: If the
report instance you selected to publish already exists as a published report in the selected Unified
Reporting project, a warning icon (

) is shown against the report. Selecting this instance republishes the report.
- If you do not want to republish the reports, you can select the report instance individually,
or select all the existing published reports by clicking the
icon, and then click the Delete icon (
).
- If you want to edit the result name or to add a label to the report, select the report row and
then edit any or all the following fields:
- In the Result Name cell, specify a name of the result that you want to
identify it with.
- In the Labels cell, specify tag names or comments to associate with the
results. You can also add a label to the selected report by using the Add
Labels icon (
).
- Click Publish.
Results
The selected existing test result reports are published to the Unified Reporting dashboard from
HCL OneTest API.
