Configuring WebSphere MQ transports

After you create a WebSphere® MQ transport, you must configure it to record, send, and receive WebSphere MQ messages within HCL OneTest™ API.

Before you begin

Before recording, publishing to, and subscribing from queues, WebSphere MQ and the relevant Queue Manager must be started, and the wanted channels must be defined.

About this task

To configure a transport, do the following steps:

  1. Double-click the appropriate WebSphere MQ Queue Manager resource in Architecture School’s Physical View.

The WebSphere MQ Queue Manager dialog box is displayed.

Note: The Stubbing tab is available only in HCL OneTest API 8.0.1 (or later). (For information about this tab, refer to Stubbing settings for MQ transport.)
  2. Enter a name for the transport in the Name field (to help identify it when multiple WebSphere MQ Queue Manager transports are available).

The settings for the transport are separated into four tabs: Settings, SSL, Recording, and Advanced.

Note: All of the configuration fields except the Password field support the use of tags. Tags can be entered manually or from the menu. The Password field is encrypted so that any characters that are entered are hidden.
  3. To test the transport settings at any time, click Test Transport. If the test is unsuccessful, verify the values in use.
