Publishing existing test suite results to Unified Reporting

If you have existing test suite result reports in HCL OneTest™ API that are not yet published to the Unified Reporting dashboard, you can publish them without running the tests again. As a user of HCL OneTest API, you can publish the test result reports to the Unified Reporting dashboard so that others can view it from the web browser.

Before you begin

  • You must have installed HCL Quality Server server on any machine and started it. For more information about HCL Quality Server server, see Administering HCL Quality Server.
  • If the HCL Quality Server server is behind a firewall, you might not connect to it. You must have configured the firewall to allow connections on ports 5443 and 7828.

About this task

You can publish a specific test suite result report or publish several test suite result reports from HCL OneTest API. You can change the name of the result report or add labels to the reports before publishing them. You can also know if the reports are already published and choose to republish those reports.

Note: If you delete the HCL Quality Server local workspace, the test reports cannot be recovered. You must republish the results from HCL OneTest API.

Procedure

Publish a specific test suite result report by completing the following steps:

  1. In HCL OneTest API, open the Results Gallery, select the test result instance from the list in the Instance field for the selected test suite.
  2. Click the Unified Reporting icon (image of the icon).
  3. In the Unified Reporting window, perform the following steps:
    1. If there are projects available in the server, select a project to publish the result.
    2. If you want to publish the reports to a new project, click New Project. Enter a project name, and then, click OK. When the result is published, the project is also created.
Note: If the report instance you selected to publish already exists as a published report in the selected Unified Reporting project, a warning icon (image of the icon) is shown against the report. Selecting this instance republishes the report.
    3. If you want to edit the result name or to add a label to the report, select the report row and then edit any or all the following fields:
      1. In the Result Name cell, specify a name of the result that you want to identify it with.
