Synchronizing with the IBM Integration Bus integration node

You can set up an IBM® Integration Bus integration node as a synchronization source in an HCL OneTest™ API project.

About this task

Before creating a logical integration node:
  • Verify that the IBM WebSphere® MQ queue manager that you want to use is running.
  • Verify that the IBM Integration Bus integration node that you want to use is running and accessible by using the specified queue manager.

Procedure

  1. Launch the Create a new Synchronization Source wizard in one of the following ways:
    • Click IBM > IBM Integration Bus integration node on the menu bar in the Logical or Synchronization view.
    • Click the Create Synchronization Source icon () and select IBM Integration Bus integration node from the Type list in the Create a new Synchronization Source wizard.
  2. Complete the information on the first page of the Create a new Synchronization Source wizard that is unique to the IBM Integration Bus integration node.
That information consists of the following options:
    1. Select a resource:
      New
To create a new physical connection to a WebSphere MQ queue manager. The IBM WebSphere MQ Queue Manager window is displayed.
      Browse
To select an existing physical connection to a queue manager. The Select a Resource window is displayed. Select a physical queue manager connection. Selecting a connection binds the logical integration node to a physical connection to the WebSphere MQ queue manager. If you do not select a physical queue manager connection, an unbound logical object is used, and a default component name and HCL OneTest API environment mapping. You can change these later.
    2. Select entries from the Integration Servers list. Any integration servers associated with any IBM Integration Bus integration node running on the selected queue manager are displayed under Integration Servers. You can use multiple integration servers as synchronization sources.
  3. Complete the wizard by following the instructions in Adding a synchronization source.
Note: All built-in JDBC data sources that are synchronized on the IBM Integration Bus node generate a database transport. However, the GH JDBC proxy supports JDBC data sources for only DB2®, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server databases. Therefore, only these data sources are synchronized on the IBM Integration Bus node. After synchronization, remember to manually add the user ID and password for the transport connection.
